I'm waiting for my own Food Network Show

I’ve become obsessed with cooking. Over the last two years that I’ve been home . Now that I’ve got time. I scour cook books and watch the cooking shows on TV. I buy the cooking magazines. I have learned a few new meals that I cook constantly. My new fave is the cube steak hoagie which is even more delicious than La Rosas and made with butter. Hmmm…unsalted of course.

This is my favorite cooking gadget. My Dutch oven. Everyone needs one. It’s the best thing ever. And mine’s pretty.

I love the weight watcher menus. The food is good, it’s good for us.

I cannot make a cake from scratch to save my life. It always comes out dry. I don’t know why.
And I’m not good at baking cookies. I follow the recipe to the letter, I watch the oven constantly. Does not come out good. No matter what. I’m not a baker.

But I can make a mean meatloaf, that most everyone loves, except one certain brother in law whom shall remain nameless. He doesn’t know what’s good.

It’s sweet, made with apricots and basted with apricot juice. It’s my son Jamie’s favorite dinner (besides Tacos, and chicken and dumpling-everything’s Jamie’s favorite dinner). Now its my son-in-law Ben’s “What do you want for your birthday dinner?” dinner. He requested my meatloaf. He requested it last year too.

Yep I make a mean meatloaf.

Happy Birthday Ben!

I did not make the cake.
